Chris “ Chubby” Frederick began helping shop owners grow in 1971 as a rep for Sun Electric and, in 1974, founded the east coast Test Products
distributorship for the Allen Group. The same year, he founded the Automotive Training Institute. He is now CEO of ATI, whose staff has grown to well over 100 associates.
ATI now trains and coaches more than 1,500 North American shop owners each week, in addition to conducting more than 200
seminars each year in locations across the United States.
In 2009 Chris Frederick was chosen as one of the Top 100 CEO’s by Smart 100 magazine for taking his own advice and "working on his
business, not in it." In 2008, Frost and Sullivan awarded ATI the Customer Value Leadership Award for helping 93% of ATI members
double their investment during their first year of his Re-Engineering Programs.
In 2009 ATI received the AMI Recognition Award, the highest honor the institute bestows on an industry leader who has taken
specific and significant action to encourage, enhance and support opportunities for automotive industry professionals to improve their business management skills.
ATI members nicknamed him "Chubby," and he is passionate about fishing, muscle cars and helping shop owners grow.
Richard has over thirty-five years of sales, marketing and senior management experience. He has spent the past twenty years in the automotive aftermarket holding down executive officer positions at Allen Test Products, Southern Automotive Test, Inc., R.O. Writer and Midas International
Richard strongly believes in client service that exceeds expectations delivered by a passionate, talented and dedicated organization.

Ken has spent his life in automotive service. He was born into, grew up in and eventually took over his father's shop in Michigan. Ken has been closely involved with ATI and partnered with Chris "Chubby" Frederick for over 30 years. Ken's roles at ATI include watching over the unique requirements of shops in the Western U.S. as well as helping develop techniques for teaching, coaching and mentoring of our clients.
Ken has provided senior level business consulting on auto service profitability and marketing to Ford, General Motors, Goodyear, Firestone, BP and others. In addition, Ken has also provided senior level business consulting services to Hunter Engineering, Snap-On, Vetronix, Alldata, SPX, Apple Computer, Texas Instruments and others. He has been a featured speaker at countless industry events and been published in nearly all industry magazines. Ken holds several patents in automotive service related areas. A few years back, Ken appeared on the cover of Motor Age magazine, the only time in the magazine's 100 year history that they put a person on their cover.
Ken is happily married and is very proud of his two children, both in college now.
Karen is a true ATI "lifer." She joined the company in 1989 and has help it grow to where it is today. She began in outside sales, helping technicians
get involved with ATI. As the company grew, so did Karen's contributions - such as helping develop the first management training content.
She currently works out of her home office in Morgantown, WV, wearing multiple hats: workshop coordination, SuperConference production and
management, corporate travel, human resources and payroll.
Bryan Stasch began in the auto industry in 1984. Working as a highly productive technician, Bryan quickly earned his way into a national
franchise store manager's position, and then went on to become general manager of ten stores within the same company. These early
promotions exposed Bryan to both the financial and staffing sides of the business, and rounded and broadened his knowledge and experience.
Needing more, and confident in his ability to perform at a high level, Bryan went to work for himself as a partner of an independent repair
shop, and ultimately opened a total of three shops.
Stepping away from the successful and profitable operation in the Baltimore suburbs and signing on with Chris Frederick in 2000, Bryan took
on the role of chief instructor. He became deeply involved in all aspects of development and presentation of the ATI Re-engineering program.
With his broad knowledge and experience, coupled with his talent as an instructor and public speaker, Bryan has been the primary trainer to
owners and service sdvisors at ATI.
In 2006 he took on additional responsibilities as director of member fulfillment. In this role he became directly responsible for all aspects
of member training and satisfaction, overseeing all ATI coaches and an administrative staff.
Bryan has made a concerted effort to define the coach's role, upgrade the training and tools available to coaches, and emphasize excellence
in all systems and procedures to assure member performance and program satisfaction.
Working with his team leaders and talented staff, he has transformed the department, and his continued pursuit of excellence keeps CSI
scores and client lift at record levels.
Chris is a partner of the Automotive Training Institute as well as head of the company's regional sales team.
Chris manages a team of sales professionals and conducts regular sales training programs. Chris grew up in the automotive industry
with his father being the largest distributor of Allen equipment and software.
He provided equipment, software, and consulting to repair shops all over the U.S.
His consulting experience includes many major accounts, such as Midas, Meineke, BP Amoco, Sunoco and many others.
His strengths include sales, accounting, finance, management, and leadership.
Chris played an instrumental role in the creation and livelihood of ATI. In addition, Chris has a Master in Business Administration from George Washington University.
ATI National Accounts
Jim Silverman's experience in the automotive industry dates back to 1970, while he was in college, and began with Manchester
Leasing Company of Houston, which became the pilot for what is now Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
For thirteen years after college, Jim held multiple roles in a new car dealership, beginning as Service Advisor and moving up through several
management positions, including service manager, sales manager, office manager and vice president/ general manager/partner.
After the sale of the dealership Jim spent several years in outside sales with a major software provider to franchised
automobile dealerships before making the switch to the aftermarket repair side of the industry.
Since 1998 he has specialized in sales and after-sales training, showing both shop owners and software sales
representatives how to better utilize their shop and business management software.
Jim takes pride in helping shop owners improve their businesses, and he values the relationships he's built up
over the years with both shop owners and major service providers to the aftermarket industry.
Jim lives in Naples Florida with his wife Pam, whom he married in 1976. Jim and Pam spend as much time
as possible enjoying the Florida beaches and sunshine, and visiting their children and grandchildren in Nebraska.
Phil Baum began in the automotive aftermarket in 1974. As a turnaround specialist for a national TBA chain, Phil restored to profitability a
succession of money-losing stores. He directed business development, marketing and personnel training initiatives for 80 company stores,
and he implemented a tire-selling system which became the company model.
Phil joined Activant Solutions (formerly Triad) in 1998 as a service dealer, business consultant and trainer.
He delivered personalized business planning services, as well as group management seminars, across North
America, helping struggling shop owners build profitable businesses. Prior to leaving Activant, he served as an
automotive division marketing ppecialist.
Phil has earned both Parts and Technician ASE certifications, and he has served on the Lincoln Technical Institute
advisory board. He credits clearly defined processes and effective sales and management skills as clear competitive
advantages for businesses of any size.
At the early age of eight, Geoff Berman began sweeping up the floor at his grandpa Ralph’s small service center. Continuing a family
tradition, Geoff returned to the business in 1987 as a young adult and has worked in the automotive industry since. He was instrumental
in helping a small service center grow into a multimillion dollar-a-year business, which included an automotive shop, body shop, service center,
used car dealership and towing company. Geoff has taken on many different positions over the years, including dispatcher, estimator, production
manager and body shop manager.
Geoff is a graduate of Vale Tech and has taken an extensive number of continuing education classes and seminars. He has been treasurer
of the Washington Metropolitan Auto Body Association and a member of its Business Development Group. He also has taken the Dale Carnegie Leadership Course.
In late 2003, while seeking a new and different challenge, Geoff began working full-time for ATI. He finds being able to help others through
his experiences and knowledge extremely gratifying. He believes in creating collaborative, supportive partnerships with shop owners and
staff to help them to create the shops of their dreams.
Geoff lives in Elkridge with his growing family: his wife, two adorable girls and twins - a boy and a girl! He loves spending time with his
kids, playing golf, woodworking and, occasionally, having a second or two to relax (sometimes even with his wife).
He firmly believes that open communication and active listening are essential to being an effective member of both his family and ATI.
John Bishop has been in the automotive industry since 1980. His first professional experience was at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company,
where he worked in all areas of wholesale, commercial and retail tire sales, as well as automotive service. Before joining ATI, John held
multiple roles with independent tire and auto service dealers, including district manager, general manager, education and training director,
and customer service manager. He also worked as a program manager for American Car Care Center (ACCC), serving on its national
training and marketing committees. All of these companies grew in number of locations, gross sales and net profits.
John “The Bishop” loves working with others, helping each individual achieve his or her business and personal goals. He believes that
“getting the right results” by measuring results and working smarter (not just harder) will, indeed, change one's future.
John lives in Celebration, Florida (Disney World) with his wife Agnes and spends as much time as possible with his five
children and many grandchildren.
Jim Groves began working in the automotive industry in 1974. Over the next twenty years, he held multiple positions
within the fixed operations field of new car dealerships. Moving on to the automatic aftermarket industry, Jim owned and
ran his own successful equipment and chemical distribution company, which afforded him the opportunity to begin working
hand-in-hand with independent repair shop owners.
Along with selling the products his company handled, he also helped develop business and sales plans for the shop owners
he did business with, and provided at-the-counter sales training.
Jim lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife Beth and son, Jimmy. His passions include golf, traveling
with his wife and, most of all, helping shop owners and ATI.
Mike Haley began in the auto industry in 1985, working part-time for his father's friend at a four-bay Western Auto while also attending
community college. After deciding to stay in the automotive industry, he joined Pep Boys in 1987 as an assistant manager. Mike soon
became one of the youngest store managers in the chain, gaining the competencies to grow his career, and was eventually promoted to
District Operations Manager for thirteen stores in the Washington and Northern Virginia market.
Demonstrating his ability to identify business opportunities in the service and tire market segments, Mike was promoted to service and
facility director for 23 service departments in the mid-Atlantic market. In 2005, Mike accepted the position of operations manager for CarMax
Toyota - the second largest Toyota dealership in the country. The time he spent in the dealership environment exposed Mike to new technologies and
processes for acquiring and retaining customers.
In addition to decades of experience, and his ASE and IMACA certifications, Mike held Toyota certifications for service manager, parts manager and
managing operator. He also was on the board of directors at Catonsville Community College, near Baltimore, MD.
Mike is the father of two and has been married to his wife Lisa since 1991. He enjoys sports, boating and spending time with family and friends.
Seeing people become successful is Mike's greatest reward - both personally and professionally.

Jack Hammond began his career in the automotive industry in 1978, as a sales rep with Sun Electric, where he learned about
engine diagnostics by attending all of the company training courses available to him. He next took a district manager's position
with Allen Test Products and was later promoted to regional manager. He was involved with the training of techs in under-hood and
computer diagnosis in Gulf states, and several states in the Midwest. He also worked with Automotive Diagnostics in recruitment and training.
Prior to joining the ATI team, he worked with ESP and Worldwide Environmental Products, where he was responsible for the installation
and training for emission inspection equipment in several parts of the U.S. and Canada.
Jack and his wife Robin have two sons and four grandchildren. He is excited about all the benefits shops receive as ATI members.
Keith began his journey through the collision repair industry in 1980, as a body technician and painter. He moved up through roles in
management, insurance claims, automotive engineering, testing and training and, finally, technical oversight at an industry MSO.
He has held senior management positions in training and research at one of the nation’s premier collision research facilities, and traveled
worldwide in his role as a center vice president.
As a trainer and coach in damage analysis and damage blueprinting, he developed SOPs, financial impact models, job aids and repair personnel
job descriptions. He also held the position of national technical training director for Sterling Collision Centers, and he has an extensive ICAR training background.
His passion for repair process efficiencies and his oversight of both established and new repair procedures, coupled with his thirst for
knowledge, have for many decades ensured proper repair for vehicle owners.
Keith has participated in many industry organizations, such as CIC, SCRS, ASA, ASE ICAR and the TWABPA, and he has been a guest
speaker at NACE and other industry conventions.
Randy began in the auto industry in the late 1970's as a gas station pump jockey. Remember "full serve?" He then moved into the
shop as an apprentice to the head mechanic. After roughly six years of working at the local neighborhood gas station, Randy
went to work for a Ford dealership, became a Ford-certified auto technician and stayed for ten years. Wanting to further expand
his automotive skills, Randy became a service writer at a large Lincoln dealership, where he worked for three years and won numerous "Top Advisor" awards.
Still eager to experience different aspects of the auto industry, Randy worked for four years as operations manager for nineteen Precision
Tune of Maryland franchises. He then accepted an offer to become assistant service manager at a Lincoln/Mercury/Volvo dealership before being
asked to join the ATI team.
Randy is excited to be part of ATI, and feels that helping owners to be successful and accomplish their dreams is a very rewarding occupation.
After graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in Marketing, George joined the Army, where he developed a
passion for blowing things up. Now his passion is building automotive shops and making them more profitable.
He began in the automotive field in 1987, and his experience runs the gamut from four-bay independent shops, to 20-bay shops
for large corporations. His ability to train sales advisors, service managers and store managers has led to regional and national awards
for sales and improved profit performance. He currently serves on the advisory and scholarship boards for Lincoln Technical Institute, and
has been a motivational speaker for many of its events.
As a John Maxwell-certified “ life coach,” he is able to impact both ATI members and his fellow ATI coaches in areas
beyond the normal consulting role.
His desire to "win," by improving ATI members' profitability and long-term success, truly creates a win-win situation for
member shops and their customers. George is married with two children
Tony has made lifetime commitment to the automotive industry and has worked in both automotive repair and collision repair.
He has owned and operated service repair, towing and collision repair businesses, and has run multiple high-volume dealership
collision centers as well as independent shops.
He believes that knowledge and leadership are the greatest tools we have in this industry and he has a passion to pass on training
and knowledge to as many people as possible.
Tony has worked as a trainer during his career and is an active Platinum-level I-Car instructor. He was awarded the GM Service
Masters Certification and is one of the original D.E.E.P. certified techs in Delaware.
Tony also has completed a wide variety training programs himself, sits on several advisory boards and has worked
with Skills USA since 2004. He most enjoys training and motivating fellow employees, helping to lead groups toward common goals and finding the best
solutions for problems.
Chris grew up in the automotive industry with his father's successful family-owned and operated independent repair shop.
The business was founded in the 1940's and Chris has transitioned into its fourth generation shop owner and partner where he manages
operations and serves as executive director of business strategy and profit model development. His experience includes building, growing
and maintaining client relationships, designing standard operating procedures to streamline operations, and managing, supporting and
motivating team members to achieve key operational and financial indicators.
Chris is passionate about teaching, coaching and enabling shop owners to take their businesses to the
next level. His goal is to help owners work smarter - not harder - and to work on their business instead of in it, giving them more free time. Chris emphasizes
strong leadership to achieve team buy-in,and empowering owners to move their people in the right direction, while holding them accountable to drive results.
Along with his automotive experience, Chris has a strong business background. His strengths include leadership,
operations, management, accounting, finance, marketing and sales. Chris has a Master in Business Administration from York College of Pennsylvania.
Dave has been in the automotive industry since one of his first jobs at a gas station at the age of fifteen. He has held every position that a shop has to offer:
from lube tech to master tech to manager to, eventually, the owner of two shops. Along the way, he was twice awarded ASE /NAPA's Tech of the Year award.
Both of his shops were originally purchased as failed businesses and he was able turn both of them into extremely profitable ventures, buying the land
and expanding the buildings along the way. He has since sold both but continues to derive income from the property and work in a marketing and advisory role.
While Dave was a shop owner, he was an ATI member and his former shops continue that relationship. He sits on multiple ATI 20 Groups and various
industry panels and advisory boards. Dave has always had a passion for growing businesses and particularly loves marketing. He was an early adopter of
web sites and digital inspection technology. Many of his procedures and strategies are used in other shops around the country.
Dave feels strongly that if every shop would provide outstanding service, do what’s in the best interest of their customers and properly charge so that money
can be out back into the business, the community and the owner's pockets, the industry as a whole would be a lot better off."
Dave lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Ruth, whom he married in 1996, and their son Ethan.
Matt Winslow was born in Los Angeles and has lived in the San Francisco bay area, Chicago and Northern Virginia. At the age of 31, he moved to Maryland
and has lived here ever since. He is a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, Diesel Institute of America, the Hunter Engineering Instructors Program and
Tony Robins' Master Persuader course. He is an ASE-certified master technician and has been in the automotive business since year.
His experience as an instructor, presenter and training course developer dates back to 1987, and he has written and published many training course
manuals on subjects ranging from wheel alignment fundamentals to advanced service advisor training. He also is the inventor of the patented Wintoe
Automatic Bushing Calculator which is shipped with Hunter Engineering Company's state-of-the-art alignment.
Matt teaches various ATI courses and also researches and develops course content. To say he is passionate about helping shop owners and service
advisors improve their businesses and lives is an understatement.
His wife Jennifer and their two children are number one on Matt’s list of personal interests. He also has a keen interest in computers,
self-improvement training, public speaking, graphic design and anything that has to do with leadership skills. He and his family enjoy cruises,
warm sunny beaches, snorkeling and travel.
ATI National Team: National Consultants
Joe began working in the automotive industry in 1982. Before he could even drive a car he started washing them at a VW,
Audi and Porsche dealership. After graduating with an Associate’s Degree from Pennco Technical Institute, he quickly moved
into a flat-rate technician's position and went on to earn certifications as a master ASE, master VW, master Audi and Porsche technician.
Joe has held many positions, from technician to service advisor to car dealership warranty administrator, and in aftermarket as a
store manager, district manager and as regional vice president for the largest automotive chain in the US. He also has worked as a
consumer advocate for Fox TV news outlets in both Pennsylvania and Florida, and has testified as an expert witness in numerous court cases.
During Joe’s career at ATI, he has helped grow the national team, develop new sales techniques and acquire new markets. Joe’s
passion is educating consumers, as well as helping shop owners, managers and automotive technicians achieve their goals.
When he is not working, you can find him working on one of his cars or riding his Harley with his wife.
Marc has worked in the automotive aftermarket since the early 1970s. The vast majority of that time was spent supporting auto repair shops:
guiding them toward greater profits by stressing quality parts, service, vehicle repair and maintenance. His experience includes coast-to-coast
projects which involved remodeling facilities and overhauling store management systems. Much of his career has been spent providing product and
service support to "big box" companies in the Rocky Mountain region.
Marc has held ASE certifications in steering and suspension, A/C, electrical and engine performance. He also is a skilled trainer,
with experience delivering content in A/C and Tune-Up.
Buck was first exposed to the automobile industry in his childhood, during which his father owned a GM dealership in a small town.
In the late 1960s, after graduating from college and spending a couple of years in public education, he joined his father to in the family business.
His natural curiosity about how things work and how they can be improved led him to develop strategies to grow the business and track its performance at all times.
His systems and plans increased annual sales from $2 million to more than $32 million, and his family owned, developed and sold a total of five dealerships. In
2001, Buck retired. In 2006, and bored after five years, he came to work for ATI, where he enjoys sharing his knowledge, experience and passion for the industry.
Buck has been married to his lovely wife Becky since 1963. He enjoys living in Colorado and spending family time with his daughter and two grandchildren.
He says, “I love my work here at ATI. It gives me the opportunity to learn and grow myself, while helping others analyze and develop their
businesses. It continues to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.”
Edward Keefe started working in the automotive business in the late 1970’s. His career began at an independently owned chain of tire and service
centers with four locations, and later moved on to a larger chain with 30 locations. He was responsible not only for his profit center, but
also for identifying and training future store management personnel - which led to identifying and fixing under-achieving centers. In his position as
National Consultants, Ed is dedicated to helping shop owners succeed.
When Ed isn’t on the road visiting shop owners, he spends time with his family. He also is a motorcycle enthusiast.
Larry Pazienza began his automotive career working at his family's gas station. He's owned more than eleven automotive-related businesses,
including several auto repair shops, a collision repair shop, a restoration shop and one of the most successful high-volume independent tire stores in the country.
Larry maximized profits in his collision repair shop by optimizing shop workflow and dramatically reducing cycle time and, in 2005,
was named to the Small Business Advisory Council to the President of the United States.
Frank Rose has a unique blend of corporate and field experience, and has been training and coaching automotive owners, store managers and service managers
since the early 1980s. He is goal and results-oriented, exhibits a high degree of business acumen, and is skilled in communication, employee motivation and team-building.
An innovator with a keen business sense, Frank continually orchestrates dynamic growth in sales and revenue through strategic management - developing
methodologies to stimulate immediate bottom-line results and create long-term competitive advantages. He also is a creative problem solver - adept at identifying
problems, defining solutions and implementing new processes and procedures.
Frank Rose began his automotive career as a part time tire technician and has worked his way up through the automotive industry as a successful store manager,
district manager, regional vice president and divisional vice president for some of the nation’s largest tire companies. He also owned and operated an independent
automotive repair shop. He has consulted for national automotive service companies, and was sole proprietor of an international management consulting company
which assisted its clients in all aspects of managing an automotive retail enterprise.
Frank Rose’s education includes the Darden School of Business Education, Frostburg State College and Montgomery College. He has served on the board of directors
for the Better Business Bureau of Washington, DC, Lincoln Technical Training Institute of Columbia, MD, the Washington DC area Tau Kappa Epsilon Alumni Association
and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at the University of Maryland.
He currently lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife Susan and has two children, Andrew and Kara. He is an avid motorcyclist and scuba diver, and his
passions include golf, fishing, tailgating and hanging out with family and friends.
ATI National Team: New Business Development
Matt has over 21 years of sales experience, 11 of those years are here at ATI. Starting as an inside sales rep, Matt moved to assistant manager, team leader, senior manager and, in 2010, the Director of New Business Development.
The quest to put "butts in seats" is the objective in his department. Matt and his team have risen to the occasion year in and year out. NBD is where it all starts. It's the foundation of ATI and with Matt at the helm,
NBD has been a key component of ATI's success.
Matt is a car enthusiast. It doesn't matter if it is vintage or a current model vehicle; he has a great passion for them. Matt has gone on several archeological digs in Egypt with
Dr. Zahi Hawass. He loves spending his free time with family in the Outer Banks and at Deep Creek Lake. Matt also volunteers on the weekends at the SPCA in Baltimore.

ATI Regional Consultants
Dan has been with ATI since 2011, helping shop owners grow and reach their potential. Since joining ATI as a territory manager, he has
built many relationships with shop owners, and he is known in the field as a dependable, hard worker. Many owners consider Dan a true
friend and someone they can to turn to for their business needs.
Before starting with ATI, Dan earned his BA degree from the University of Maryland's University College. He has worked in sales business
management since 1986, and many of those years have been working with small businesses. Dan’s ability to work with financial statements to
improve business structuring is just one of the reasons he is successful at ATI.
Dan lives in Maryland with his wife and children. He enjoys spending time with his family when he is not helping shop
owners reach their potential.
Guy has been owning and managing family businesses since 1981, developing and implementing marketing campaigns and strategies
to help them grow. His background in print, mail and internet technologies now benefits ATI members.
Prior to ATI, Guy was with an automotive vocational school, where he helped future technicians find jobs within the auto repair industry.
Now, he helps ATI members find, hire and motivate techs - a task both ATI and Guy see as a major benefit to the success of any shop.
Guy loves to use his strong coaching background to show shop owners their potential and assist them in putting plans into place
to achieve their dreams.
Guy lives in southern New Jersey with his wife Roseann and two children. He is passionate about high school and college wrestling,
and he coached for the Dave Schultz and Sunkist Kids clubs at the University of Pennsylvania from 2000 to 2014.

ATI Collision Team
Jim is a second-generation collision professional. His passion for the industry was passed along from his Dad, who began repairing and painting cars in
1946. Jim not only learned from his father's ability to overcome setbacks to create and sustain a profitable collision repair business, but also took away
invaluable life and professional insight.
Jim has been an ASE Master Body & Refinish Technician and an ASE-Certified and Vale Tech Estimatics graduate estimator. He also completed both
AMI and Masters School of Autobody collision management training. He has been an Independent appraisal service owner, a Verifacts automotive coach, a
BMW and Toyota-Certified collision consultant and a coatings sales rep.
He also has been an I-CAR Instructor who has taught classes in every collision discipline and welding certification, across the country and in Puerto
Rico for sixteen years.
He has been a successful dealership collision manager and a general manager for a multi-store collision organization which, under his leadership,
achieved historic year-over-year 20% sales increases. He also has developed free collision industry apps for technicians, painters and estimators.
His thirst for knowledge has led to opportunities to learn and grow, and he is excited about the opportunity to share his experiences with other
collision industry professionals. His insight into implementing smart business practices and his straight-to-the-point business style will be helpful to the ATI members.
Jim is an active advisory board member for several post-secondary collision vocational tech programs. He also is a strong proponent and
developer of in-house apprenticeship and development programs.
In his spare time Jim likes to read, create acrylic paintings, collect and repair vintage guitars, drive his Triumph motorcycle, work on the
next great American novel and take his granddaughters to the Memphis Zoo.

Kevin began his automotive career in the late 1980’s, managing a two-bay gas station. He soon realized that his passion
for cars and ability to help people solve problems would be the career path he would follow. He moved on to Pep
Boys Automotive in 1990 where he would spend the next nineteen years wearing a variety of hats, including service
manager, retail manager and general manager. His store was so successful it became the location at which all new
management recruits were trained. The desire to help others become successful eventually led him to join ATI.
Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife Kristi and their children. He also enjoys NASCAR, water sports and golfing.

Mike Bennett entered the automotive repair industry in 1985. As an ASE Master Technician, Mike worked in nearly every facet of
the industry: as a general repair technician in a small independent shop, line technician at a GM dealership, shop foreman, service manager
and, eventually, service/parts director.
In 1999, Mike returned to his roots in the independent repair world, buying the family-owned automotive repair business now known as Mike's
KARS Inc., located in Gettysburg, PA. Like most successful and passionate technicians, Mike has always had a talent for fixing the "problem child." Mike's KARS Inc. quickly became the area's go-to shop for accurate and dependable repair. However, like most great technicians who end up owning a shop, Mike had little formal training on how to run a successful business or turn an acceptable profit in the "independent" world.
Applying the same passion for excellence that fueled his success as a technician, Mike completed several business management training programs,
including ATI's. As an ATI alum, Mike discovered he had a passion for sharing his experience, knowledge and expertise with other shop owners
and industries, and began regularly speaking at local B&I groups, Business Development groups and trade/vocational events. Mike still owns and operates the repair business, but daily operations are now handled by his wife and very capable staff.
Mike brings a unique set of skills to ATI. As a technician, current shop owner and ATI graduate, Mike truly understands the ATI members he works
with. He firmly believes that success as a shop owner comes not from just working the "longer-harder" plan, but from education, training and a
successful partnership with an organization that truly has the tools to put its members in control of, and on the path to, prosperity, success,
independence and happiness - both in business and in life.
Mike still resides in Gettysburg PA. with his wife Shelle, whom he married in 1986. They have two daughters, Jessica and Nicole. In his spare
time, Mike has enjoyed attending almost every one of Jessica's collegiate soccer games and functioning as crew chief for Nicole's
NHRA Jr. Dragster racing career.
He also enjoys restoring WWII Jeeps and military vehicles with his father, Jerry.

Rod has been in the automotive service industry since 1975. Starting as an automotive technician, he moved to store manager, operations manager, corporate operations
and technical trainer, district manager, vice president of operations and multiple shop owner. Rod has worked with Midas International, Goodyear Tire and Rubber,
Tenneco Automotive, Meineke and independent automotive centers.
Rod is an ASE-certified technician, service consultant and parts specialist. He also is a graduate of numerous automotive technical and operational programs.
He earned a Bachelor's degree in business administration and has continued to expand his educational resume.
Rod grew up on a farm in western Ohio and, at an early age, he learned the value of hard work. The U.S. Army taught him leadership and perseverance.
Last but not least, fatherhood taught him about patience and guidance. Rod combines his personal, educational and career experiences in his coaching style.
Helping ATI members achieve their goals is his goal.
Rod and his wife, Susan, currently reside in Pasadena, Maryland. They have five grown children and twelve grandchildren (so far). Rod’s hobbies include
shooting, firearm and militaria collecting, fishing and driving a Mustang GT which he purchased new in 1990.
Paul Colison is a home-grown Baltimore guy. He started out in the business in 1972, learning to be a motorcycle
technician, and progressed over the years to service manager at one of Baltimore’s largest multi-line motorcycle dealerships.
After a few years he took up the challenge of managing the service department of a Honda auto dealer, where he was fully
trained in all Honda parts and service. He also opened Baltimore’s first Acura dealership and ran the service department of a large
GM dealership, where he received full training in GM service management. Paul also is an ASE Master Tech and parts specialist.
Paul has a deep interest in cars, motorcycles and management. He has a unique sense of humor, a sharp wit and a great interest in
drag racing. His very favorite toys are computers and he has mastered most business software. He has been married to his lovely wife Sharon since 1985.
Paul has become ATI’s compensation specialist and creates compensation plans which are tailored to the needs of each

Upon earning his BA in International Business, Kevin Chzaszcz joined the automotive industry and worked for three large corporate chains in stores across
the state of Maryland - in rural, suburban and city locations. His experience in shops ranging in size from four to fourteen bays helped him master customer acquisition,
work flow and scheduling. A top salesman, he substantially improved tire and service sales at an ATI Top 150 Shop he managed. Kevin attributes his success to focusing on the basics.
While working 55-80 hour weeks at the counter, Kevin still was able to find the time to obtain his MBA in Business Management from Loyola University in
Maryland. Because of his focus on the automotive industry as a theme for class assignments, his professors may never look at automotive sales and service the same way again.
During his free time Kevin enjoys traveling and hiking with his fiancé. He has also been a lifelong world traveler. he lived in England for six months and has
visited Spain, Portugal, Germany, Czech Republic, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Russia and Egypt.
José Cruz Sr. has been in the automotive industry since 1990, when he began working for Sears Automotive. To this day, José
continues to learn and apply all of his industry knowledge to be a successful manager.
José has worked in shops ranging in size from six bays to thirty bays, and has held various positions, including general service, service
advisor, area sales manager and senior-level management posts. This has provided him with broad and deep experience in all aspects
of automotive operations management.
His professional image, dedication to members, commitment to assisting others and positive outlook helps him continue to grow
professionally and personally. An avid family man who holds his beliefs first in order to be a better husband and father, as well as to
be a better person professionally, José lives by the motto, "Attitude reflects leadership. Project a positive attitude toward each day
and success will follow."
Chuck began his automotive industry career in 1976 as a retail sales manager in the Goodyear Tire Retail Stores
Division. Since then, he has acquired fifteen years of service, parts and body shop supervision experience at numerous multi-line import
and domestic new car dealerships. Just prior to joining ATI, he was quality management system (QMS) project leader for the BMWNA's Eastern Region.
Chuck has provided consulting services for several new car dealers as an Automotive Profit Builders (APB) "Sales and Service Track" presenter.
He also was an owner/operator of an All Tune & Lube franchise, and chief operations officer for the Barr Leasing and Dealership Management Company in Central New York.
He has successfully participated in many other automotive manufacturer programs, including Chevrolet's "Service Supremacy," Chevrolet "Only
the Best Club" and the General Motors Institute's Dealer Service College, from which he graduated in 1984. In 1992, he was Buick's "Best in Class" program president.

Businesswoman and mother of two, Nadine grew up in the tire and automotive industry in central Virginia. With seven
locations, five tire and automotive stores, an automotive parts reclamation center and a body shop/used car operation, the
family's business was a dominant retailer in its market.
Nadine worked in all aspects of the business for more than twelve years. As vice president, she was responsible for the
entire operational effort of the seven-store chain. Her duties included establishing and achieving sales and profit objectives,
marketing and advertising, inventory control and management, establishing policies and procedures, managing receivables,
payables and cash flow, budgeting and forecasting, and the management and training of all sales and technical personnel.
Her decision to leave the business and join ATI was a difficult one. She knows first-hand the demands and stress of running
a seven-store operation. As a welcome addition to the ATI team, she utilizes her training and experience to help ATI members become more profitable.
Nadine, her husband and her two children live in Lynchburg, VA. She enjoys traveling and relaxing at the beach.

Kevin, a native of Baltimore, has been in the automotive industry since 1978. He grew up with an interest in cars and,
at an early age, spent many hours working on engines with his older brother. He began his career as an electric specialist at
Montgomery Ward, where he gained an early appreciation of the value of customer service, hard work and dedication.
Kevin quickly moved up through the organization by taking on leadership roles, and he expanded his resume by successfully
running small and large shops in multiple markets. He demonstrated an ability to make failing stores profitable, whether they
were general auto repair, tire stores or both. As a result, he rose through the ranks of several companies and eventually became
district manager for a national chain which covers the Baltimore market.
On a personal note, Kevin is an avid Ravens and Orioles fan, has been happily married to his wife Joan since 1992, and has been
blessed with three children: Jordan, Jessi and Jacob. Kevin feels that being a f ather has been the most rewarding job of all, and has
allowed him the opportunity to grow personally and in his faith.
His hobbies include sports, photography and spending time working on his lawn. He and his wife also owned a successful
wedding photography business for more than fifteen years.
Kevin enjoys his role as 20 Group Facilitator and brings to that position a belief in collaboration, with an understanding that
innovative ideas are generated through open conversation and dialogue. He is excited to support each member of the group in
gaining a stronger growth mindset, which will elevate them to a higher level in both their personal and professional lives.

Kim began her automotive career in 1987 in Arizona, while looking after her grandparents. Her first job was as a filing clerk for a
company that had a Ford Dealership, Texaco Fuel Station, C Store and a deli. Showing an aptitude for the automotive industry, as well as
understanding the importance of providing excellent customer service, Kim was quickly promoted to general manager.
While helping her grandfather take his car for repair, she was shocked to find out how many people in her community were being taken
advantage of. Since there wasn't a shop with which she could trust her grandfather and his car, she set out to start her own. Armed with an
idea and a lot of determination, Kim started an automotive repair business from her house, which eventually grew into a two-building, nine-bay,
twelve-lift, award-winning family business that is now in its third decade of operation.
She will be the first to tell you that it wasn't always easy, but that it was always worth it. Kim enjoyed a lot of success, had the support of
her community and had a lot of gumption - but it wasn't until she enrolled in ATI's Re-Engineering Program that she finally was able to take her
family business to the next level. As both a shop owner and ATI alumna, she has the first-hand knowledge and passion to take you and your shop
to the next level. And having built her own shop from the ground up, Kim has been involved in every aspect of starting and maintaining a successful business.
She strongly believes that you must give to receive, and credits a lot of her success to "always giving back." She is very active in event planning and
fundraising for several charities and non-profit organizations.
Kim has been certified as an executive coach and as a master coach-certified trainer. She also holds the International Coaching Federation (ICF) designation
of Professional Certified Coach. Her ability to seamlessly combine her automotive business knowledge with her coaching and training education results in
many great successes for her members.

Brian has been in the automotive industry since 1978. He began working out of the back of a road service truck,
went on to manage independent and franchised stores, built and opened new stores from the ground up, and eventually
became a district manager solely responsible for eight tire and automotive stores.
Often called in as a troubleshooter, Brian is proud of the recognition, awards and rewards he has received for reviving failing
stores, consistently breaking sales records and exceeding expectations. He is known for effectively applying successful, practical
methods and systems, rather than theoretical techniques.
An innovative thinker and a "shoot-from-the-hip" sort of man, Brian tells it likes it is and lets the chips fall where they may.
His style has made him very successful in recruiting, training and motivating quality personnel.
"What you put in is what you get out," is his favorite saying.
Brian and his lovely lady, Kathy, have four grown children and now have time to enjoy the finer things in life, which, for
him, include waterskiing, shooting, working out and dancing on Saturday nights.

Rick has been in the automotive business since 1991. He has owned his own shop in Nebraska and has performed every job
except technician. Rick joined ATI as a member and, after completing the program, became an absentee shop owner, turning
day-to-day shop operations over to his daughter and son-in-law.
After ATI helped him re-engineer his business, Rick decided that he would like to become a coach and help other shop
owners do the same. Rick understands what it takes to go through the process of "forgiving misguided belief systems"
after doing that himself, and he is ready to help shop owners on their journey.
Rick is married, has four children and a has strong belief in God and family.

John has been involved in the automotive and automotive education industry since 1993, when he
graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute and went to work for an independent shop.
He quickly became an automotive service and gas station business owner, but transitioned to the automotive
education industry as an Automotive Instructor, Automotive Program Director and Assistant Director of Education.
John brings to ATI that diverse background, which includes independent service/operations management skills as well
as aspects of financial management and employee relations.
John earned his AAS degree in Automotive Service management, is an accomplished public speaker and is proud
to be part of the ATI team. John’s interests include football, baseball and collegiate wrestling.

A "chip off the old block", Kevin was introduced to the automotive industry at a very young age . He was inspired and encouraged by his father,
a master technician, to learn that life's successes are developed in and through people. Choosing to pursue the family trade, Kevin's formal
instruction and training in basic automotive repair and maintenance quickly led to higher aspirations.
Immediately following high school, Kevin went to work alongside his father. Goals in mind, Kevin directed his attention to fostering relationships,
as well as meeting the highest industry standards for quality.
His career path included numerous positions, from line technician to service advisor to a dealer service manager/director, and his sense of
responsibility and commitment to the industry continued to evolve. Kevin's strong leadership and communication skills proved effective in turning loss to profit, developing proficient employees, resolving problems and raising standards for customer service and satisfaction.
Kevin brings to ATI all of those years of automotive repair, maintenance, parts, customer service, leadership and administrative skills, and
he continues to enhance his education by attending training seminars. Kevin has not only pursued technical areas of expertise, but also is a graduate of the Capital Baptist Institute.
His studies and personal beliefs have taught him to put the needs of others first, and his ability to build strong relationships with his
co-workers and customers ensures the greatest possible potential for creating service excellence: one encounter at a time and one customer at a time.
Kevin is happily married and attributes his successes, in-part, to his wife. They and their two children live in Mount Airy, Maryland.
He is an avid believer in family time and enjoys encouraging youth through his work a basketball referee. He also enjoys playing basketball, watching sports and singing.

Bobby has been in the automotive industry since 1989. He began his professional career as a parts stock clerk at a dealership, and quickly worked his
way up to management. Since then he has held many positions with dealerships, including service manager and fixed operations, earning top Honda and Volkswagen certification along the way.
He then bought a failing repair facility which he quickly made profitable by building strong customer relations and creating strong ties to the
community. He has a well-rounded view of employee development, customer satisfaction all operations.
Bobby attributes his success to his ability to learn while teaching, and having a never-give-up attitude. He spends most of his free time
with his beautiful wife, Justeen, and his daughter Addison. He is a strong believer that, out of all things, a strong and loving family is the best foundation for success and motivation.
Steve began working in the automotive service industry in 1981 and has acquired management experience in both franchise/independent and dealer
operations, Steve is well-rounded in all aspects of successful profit operations, employee development and customer service.
He attributes his success to taking care of the customer, while maximizing opportunity, as well as being able to train, motivate, measure and
reward his employees.
Steve was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and has been married to his boss (wife) Karen since 1992. He is also a stepfather to twin sons,
Jimmy and Ricky. Steve's hobbies include golfing, cruising, Disney and, most of all, Ravens football.

Tom Ringle first made his way into the automotive Industry working in a local dealership in his hometown of Annapolis, while
he was still attending school part-time. He has spent the majority of his career managing the service and parts operations of GM dealerships.
He has enjoyed working in all aspects of the automotive repair business but, when afforded the opportunity, he decided to
join the ATI team. Independent repair shops provide him with new challenges, and a way to help both intermediate and large
shops realize there true potential.
Tom enjoys drag racing, NASCAR and the great outdoors, and of, course the company of his wife and three children.

Colter began working in his brother's body shop while attending college at Southern Illinois University, where he majored in Business
Administration. After college, Colter continued his automotive career, running large shops, small shops and everything in between.
He has been a sales advisor, tire sales manager, service manager and store manager. That broad background, and the knowledge
that came with it, helped him transform five broken stores into profitable business locations. He went on to become an area manager
in charge of eight locations and more than 150 employees.
Colter is also experienced in the training and mentoring side of the business. He taught courses on a national level, and covered
topics such as behavioral interviewing and consumer behavior profiling. Colter attributes his success to his ability to create a great
culture with his people, and to keeping his eyes open for blind spots in his business.
When Colter isn't at work, he enjoys spending time with his family. He lives in Mt. Airy, Maryland with his beautiful wife, Jessica,
and their two children, Hudson and Leighton. He firmly believes that a great foundation at home will produce a great ability to be effective at work.

Eric Twiggs began working in the automotive industry in 1993, and brings a wealth of knowledge and business experience to ATI.
After graduating from Hampton University with a degree in marketing, Eric began his career as a top-producing service advisor.
He quickly worked his way up the ranks to store manager, where he supervised up to 35 employees and was responsible for creating $3.5 million in annual revenue.
After successfully managing two different retail locations, Eric went on to become a performance consultant in the retail automotive industry,
where he coached, trained and consulted with more than 65 store and service managers in the upstate New York and Washington DC areas.
It was at this point that Eric discovered his passion for coaching and taking shop owners to the next level.
Eric then took on the role of district manager for seventeen retail stores with more than 500 employees and $50 million in annual revenue.
He spent nine years in that position and received numerous awards for sales and profitability.
During his spare time, Eric is very active in his local church and enjoys spending time with his wife Anjanette and his daughter Erin. He also
enjoys watching sports and practicing various forms of martial arts. He has a black belt in American karate and is currently a mixed martial arts
student. He is also active in Toastmasters International and is a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Mike's career in the automotive industry began in 1975. After graduating from Vale Technical Institute in Blairsville, Pennsylvania,
he worked as a mechanic for a local Chevrolet dealership, then for an independent repair shop for a number of years before becoming the general
manager of a Mobil gas station in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
While he was there, he was approached by Mobil Oil Corp with an offer to run one of their company-owned stations in McLean, Virginia. While
managing that station, Mike was permitted to run his own auto repair business out of the bays, and so started his first business at the age of 27.
In 1989, Mike moved his business back to Maryland with the purchase of a six-bay full-service repair shop in Montgomery Village. Over the years,
the business gained a loyal following of regular customers and Mike earned a reputation for running a shop which offered the community a
combination of experience, integrity and a genuine concern for customers.
In 2008, a national franchise company offered to purchase Mike's business assets and he spent three years working for the company as a
One of Mike's passions is working one-on-one in a teaching, mentoring or coaching role. After taking ATI classes over the years, he joined the
ATI team. His first-hand experience with all aspects of running an automotive repair shop uniquely qualify him to relate to and understand his members' problems.
He enjoys helping members achieve success by finding creative solutions for problems, and he believes that business owners can be successful
by working on their businesses instead of in them. He is committed to providing members with the education and tools they need to make that happen.
Mike and his wife Cherri have been married since 1977 and make their home in New Market, Maryland. They have two grown and married
daughters and an adult son, and two grandchildren that they love

Don began his automotive career while in High School in 1978, as a general service/tire technician, and has since held just about every
job in the industry. As a fully certified ASE Technician, he worked his way from service manager to district manager, overseeing ten retail locations with more than 100 employees.
With these accomplishments under his belt, Don brings all of his knowledge to ATI to help business owners become and remain
Don spends most of his free time on the golf course, watching Ravens football and spending time with his family. He has been
married to his wife and best friend, Danna, since 1982. Together, they have raised three wonderful sons.
The two oldest have become successful lawyers and the youngest is a technician for Comcast Cable.

Helen joined the ATI team in March 2010 - arriving with accounting knowledge and a true dedication to helping people.
Helen began as the main contact for Accounts Receivables and quickly added Member Fulfillment Department Administrative
Manager responsibilities. She recently took on the role of Vendor Relationship Manager.
Helen is definitely a team player. She comes to work every day with a smile on her face and ready to give the day her all.
Helen is dedicated to making the Member Fulfillment Department staff and the members themselves the happiest they can be.
When Helen is not at ATI she is home with her husband and three children. She is an avid Ravens football fan.
